I arrived Havanna from Miami early in the morning and took a taxi to my B&B in Perceverancia 60 just in walking distance from the old Havanna.
Oilda and Alberto Garcia, mother and son, runs this Casa Particulare (B&B).
As a newly educated engieneer in Computers he has not yet been able to find work. Oilda is a nurse but quit work two years ago to do the B&B.
Alberto has a bar at the roof of the b&b with a view to the sea one block away from the Malecon. Walking the Malecon is amazing. Large waves that bombard the sidewalk and pelicans diving for fish.
There are two Cuban currencies . Cup (Pesos) is used by Cubans and CUC is the tourist money. 10 CUC is about 10 euro, and 25 cup is one cuc. When you use pesos you most of the times pay the local price. Cuba is expensive for tourists.
I was told the reason why wifi in Cuba is so bad. Beause of the
American blockade the cubans have to use Chinese and Russian satelites.
Cuba has 11 milion citizen and Havana has population of two millions.
Its almost 70 years since the revolution in 1958 and Cuba has many old american cars which still are in use everyday. The Cubans are very good mechanics.
