Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America and has 5 millions residents.
The country shares its borders to Honduras in the north and Costa Rica in the south. The Pasific Ocean to the west and The Caribbean Sea to the east. Managua is the capital. The people are a mixture of Native Americans and Spaniards, called Mesca.
The currency is Cordobar.
I stayed at Casa del Poeta. A very quiet and relaxing place.
Granada has a rich colonial heritage from the 16.century when the first conquistadores arrived from Spain.
Its located at the north west bank of the huge Lake Nicaragua, one of the biggest lakes in the world.

There was a big fire her in the middle of 19. century that wiped out most of the houses but the people rebuilt the city in the same colonial style.
I met Laura Boeij on the vulcano tour to Masaia, one of the huge vulcanoes in Nicaragua and the only one still active!
In Lake Nicaragua there are a number of Bullsharks that during the centuries swum up the Rio San Juan and adapted to fresh water.
